SAINT
MARY LAKE is positioned just past the eastern entrance to the Park. It is visible
along Going to the Sun Road and can actually be seen from the Hidden Lake Trail at Logan
Pass. A beautiful, large lake it is most special for the snowy mountains which surround and feed it. Probably the most photgraphed spot in the park is Wild Goose Island, named for a pair of geese who nested there. Goose Island Overlook provides a spectacular view of the island, lake and mountains. It is a very romantic spot. Several pullouts allow you to take photos from a number of angles. Even from the same spot the view changes dramatically as the sun's position changes. Bring plenty of film! |
